Shakespeare High’ documentary deserves much ado
Here’s a great review from the Palm Springs International Film Festival-
“…Parents will love it because it shows how learning to speak Shakespeare (instead of just reading it) can be transformative. It teaches kids how to deconstruct a project; how to study, rehearse, take criticism and feel elated over all their hard work. Then it teaches the kids how to take it up a notch, like Kobe in the NBA playoffs.
For teens, it’s all about the energy these kids from all walks of life bring to this ancient theatrical art form. You see the son of a skinhead who wants to be on “Saturday Night Live.” You see twin brothers whose father is in prison for murdering their mother and grandmother. You see an overweight girl who feels she has no limits…”
